For me, art has always been about more than a likeness. It is about the energy behind a subject, an artistic expression of its spirit.
Through luminous realism, I use the play of light, intricate pencil strokes, and fine brushwork to bring each subject to life. My goal is to create portraits that preserve the character, warmth, and details that make a person or animal unforgettable.
A lifelong love of art
My artistic journey began early. I received my first commission at age seven through Akron Public Schools. By ten, I was already selling drawings to friends so I could buy after-school snacks. In sixth grade, I began attending a visual and performing arts school, where I refined my skills and explored a range of artistic media.
That early dedication led to awards, including two Gold Keys from the National Scholastic Art Competition. I also sold a piece to Akron Children’s Hospital and collaborated with fellow artists on the “Character Counts” mural in downtown Akron. Since then, I have completed several other murals.
Light and Love, in every detail
Over the years, I have continued to refine my preferred mediums and share my work with collectors across the United States and Canada. I work in colored pencil, acrylic, and oil, using lightfast pigments and museum-quality surfaces chosen to help each piece endure.
Whether I am creating a portrait of a beloved animal or a personal portrait of someone important to you, my goal is the same: to bring technical detail, warmth, and lasting meaning to a work of art.
